Why does this program work?
It is well-known that most children are not eating enough fruits and vegetables. I can EAT a rainbow introduces healthy foods in a fun and friendly way.
Studies show:
-
Exposing children to fruit and veg leads them to accept them at later ages
-
Encouraging children to try and enjoy new foods is more effective than pressuring them to eat foods
You may have heard that children need lots of exposure to healthy food- sometimes 10-15 times before knowing if they like it!
I can EAT a rainbow is the perfect way to continue exposing children to healthy food and to reinforce the healthy eating messaging children are receiving at home or in care.

What can I expect?
-
Children meet Wanda the Watermelon, our special helper (who becomes SUPER Wanda)
-
Children learn how food that comes in each colour of the rainbow helps their bodies. Through fun actions, children learn about the human body
-
The Mystery Box is revealed, and children each get a turn choosing real fruits and vegetables, and identifying colours
-
A class "RAINBOW" of fruits and vegetables is created!
-
Children receive their certificates and learn how to try a NEW fruit or vegetable

Did you know?
Less than 1% of children in Australia eat the recommended 4.5 serves of vegetables each day!*
